Course Overview

AIDA 4 is an advanced programme and deep diving course. You are now ready to step out of recreational freediving. The course goals are to introduce you to deep freediving past your recreational limits.

You will learn how to properly plan and structure your training and be introduced to mouthfill equalisation. You will also train exhale diving and learn about depth adaptation.

Our team at Kalamata Freediving Academy have years of experience and our owners are deep athletes themselves, always on hand to advise and guide you. You will also learn how to refine your pool diving, training not just for performance but learning the best ways to train for stamina and fitness.

You will also gain practical knowledge about how to organize a safe Freediving set up and be able to assist AIDA Instructors who are teaching courses.

At the end of the course you will be a complete self aware freediver capable of organizing your own training and dive sessions.

Course Schedule:

Day 1 - Foundation and Pool Session
Theory session on Lung Volumes Advanced equalization techniques, Packing and confined water  session in the pool.

Day 2 - Open Water and Theory
Stretching session, warm up, mouthfill practice, buoyancy control and dive techniques under instructor supervision. Theory at evening: Advance physiology, risk management, advanced training concepts.

Day 3 - Open Water and Theory
Stretching session,depth dives, mouthfill practice, buddy rescue practice. Theory at evening: Advance equipment and Nutrition in freediving.

Day 4 - Open Water
Stretching session, depth dives, FRC dives, buddy rescue practice. At evening video analysis, talk about the open water session and Knots workshop

Day 5 - Open Water
Stretching session, final depth dives, buddy rescue practice. Written exams and certification ceremony

    • AIDA 3 (or equivalent)

    • 18 years or older

    • Medical statement & valid insurance (Insurance is available through us if needed for an extra cost, please ask for details)

    • A First Aid course with CPR valid within 2 years is required to be certified AIDA4 (First aid courses are available at the centre, please ask for information) This can be done at a later date.

  • It’s always good to have your own equipment that feet you perfect and make you feel comfortable. In case that you have no equipment you can rent from us. We providing High quality new equipment. Please also bring your swimwear, towel, and sunscreen!

  • Our courses follow international AIDA standards with a maximum 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

  • Full refund if cancelled 30 days before the course. 50% refund for 7-14 days notice. Rescheduling is free with 48 hours notice, subject to availability.
